City of Dallas Adopts Green Building Program

On April 9, 2009, the City of Dallas adopted a resolution for the implementation of the citywide green building program and an ordinance establishing the green building program.

October 1, 2009 is the effective date when the mandatory measures for all new construction, both residential and commercial, take place.

Builders can meet the requirements by using the following standards for compliance:

  • ENERGY STAR
  • Green Built Texas
  • LEED-H (Residential)
  • LEED NC, CS (Commercial)
  • Energy modeling (commercial)

Now more than ever, builders need to find a way to adopt a green building program for their green building business.  This presents a great opportunity to position your company as a leader in the marketplace.
